SB 1782 Senator Pizzo
Dangerous Excessive Speeding
Senate Bill 1782, Dangerous Excessive Speed, sponsored by Senator Pizzo, adds three new provisions to
the state's reckless driving statute. The bill targets:
Driving 50 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit,
Operating a vehicle at over 100 miles per hour while passing, and
Driving 35 miles per hour or more above the speed limit on non-limited access roads.
During the Senate Transportation Committee hearing, Senator Pizzo shared a tragic incident from his
