2025
The 2025 Legislative Session has been
marked by turbulence, and Week 8 has
proven to be especially noteworthy.
Tensions have escalated, with sharp
exchanges and pointed accusations
flying between the chambers and between
the House and the Governor’s office. While
political scandals are nothing new, this
year’s controversies have taken on an
unusually intense and combative tone.
This week brought political shock and
intrigue as longtime FOP ally and multiyear Senator of the Year, Jason Pizzo,
stepped down as Democratic Leader of
the Florida Senate. For those of us who
have worked closely with Senator Pizzo, his
resignation underscores a truth we’ve long
known: he’s never been about party—he’s
about doing what’s right.
