During it’s first committee hearing there were no substantive questions from any of
members, and the only debate consisted of Senator Burgess introducing the measure and
clarifying that it applies specifically to support personnel involved in investigating crime
scenes or processing evidence. No members spoke in opposition, and the bill passed
unanimously.

Concealed Carry Licensing Requirements
for Law Enforcement and Active Military

Team FOP members supported the legislation in the Senate Criminal Justice Committee.
The legislators discussed if waiving the three-day waiting period for officers and military
personnel was justified by their training. There were some questions regarding fairness and
the risk of impulsive violence.The bill passed 7 yeas 1 nay.
